| Amanda is the
typical Haugesund woman. Warm, not at least skinny, men's dream (but not
the Miss World kind of dream). A real woman! She has given the name to
the Norwegian "Oscar"-award: The Amanda award. And she has given the name
to our newest and largest shopping mall (above). We have the Amanda day
in August. One of the most popular Haugesund songs is known all around
our country: "Og ingen gav meg en sådan stund, som Amanda i fra Haugesund"
(And no one gave me as good a time, as Amanda from Haugesund).
