Aksdal is the community center of Tysvær, and has been developed enormously the last 20 years. From beeing just a roadcrossing with a car service station, it has now the Tysvær community administration center, homes for elderly, church, culture house with modern cinema, library, cafees, large swimming pool, shooping mall, bus terminal, motell, celebration square and more on. Shortly - this is a modern community center.

Aksdal has the permanent exhibition "The travel to America", well worth a visit for all of us interested in the emigration period. HT will visit this exhibition shortly, but until then some fall pictures from Aksdal:

Utenfor kommunehuset står bl.a. en skulptur av Lars Hertervig.
Outside the communty center, we find a sculpture of the famous Tysvær painter Lars Hertervig from Borgøy.
