| Sigurd Norman Haugen var 7
år da foreldrene tok ham og broren med og flyttet til Utah i USA.
Nå er han tilbake - for første gang. Haugesund Today og lokale
søskenbarn og venner ble lokkematen som fikk ham hjem - som med
så mange flere.
Opplevelser har det vært masser av
siden han ankom torsdag i forrige uke. Han husker det utroligste, og har
fått besøke både gaten
sin, huset han bodde
i, gamle naboer
- og han har fått oppleve Sildajazz.
Men - er det noen som husker ham? Han bodde
i Losgaten på Hasseløy, og rakk å gå i 1. klasse
på Breidablikk før de reiste. Nå blir han her til neste
torsdag (24/8). Kontakt oss hvis dere
vil ha kontakt med ham!

Sigurd Norman Haugen (Norm) is visiting his home town for the first
time since their family moved to Utah in 1948 (51 years!). He was only
7. Here he has a great time, and is able to remember lots of details.
But -tToday we ask people who may know him to contact us!

We have talked via 'e' mail
before, but never in your guest book. I enjoy all you pictures very
much, and escape to your web site every night before retiring. I
was born in Kristiansund N. in 1941. I don't know when my parents
moved to Haugesund, but I do remember an awful lot of the way it was before
we moved to the U.S. in 1949. I attended the first grade there (Braderblik
?? ) and spent many hours in the city park. The gazebo was there
when I lived there. My grandmother lived just a few yards up from
the park. My father drove a bus up and down araldsgaten.
We lived on Bakaroyna (????). It was great of you to take the pictures
of the house we lived in, and the back yard. It brought many memories.
My cousin, whom you have contacted - Adolf M. Haugen lives there.
One of these times, I am coming for a visit, and probably will not want
to come back. We live in Utah - just a few miles from the 2002 Winter
Olympics. Hope to hear from you again. Thanks for all your efforts.
