Luft under kjølen etter vinterdvalen
Kranfirmaene har masser av sjøsettingsoppdrag for tiden. For
nå er vårpussen stort sett unnagjort og båtene har ikke
mer på land å gjøre. Så i dag fulgte vi kranfører
Nils Mikal Sørhaug og båteier Terje Nesheim under sjøsettingen
i Smedasundet.
Noen av dagens bilder er tatt på Ballastkaien (vis a vis Rica
Maritim), hvor det er flere slags aktivitet for tiden. For ved siden av
båtpuss og sjøsetting, arbeides det intenst med klargjøring
til Ola Flytt-dagen 3. juni. I går ble
skulpturen montert, innpakket i presenning. Lørdag om 2 uker
blir den avduket. Samtidig vil vi nok bli grundig minnet om Ola Flytt og
hans plass i Haugesunds historie. Mer om dette i løpet av kort tid.

The mobile crane companies do lot of small boat launching these days.
Most owners have finished their spring boat cleaning and rehabilitation,
and the boats ( and their crews) want salt water under the keel.
Some of the pictures of today are shot on what they called the ballast
quay in the old days. Here people work on and launch their boats, and a
group of volunteers work hard to finish the Ola Flytt-park before june
3. - the memorial day of this local celebrity - beeing a rowing ferryman
in the last century. We even have songs about him. Now he even will get
his well deserved monument. There will be a
Haugesund Today-issue in advance of this occasion - and of course - on
the June 3.

Flytten ble og sjøsatt i dag. I juni er
den i aktivitet igjen i sundet.
The "Flytten", a former small passenger ferry, was launched,
too.
