Oma båtbyggeri,
Stord mandag 20. mars
Den ruver, Draupner. Selv om båten
til venstre ser liten ut, er den identisk med de "nye, store" flaggrutebåtene
vi fikk for noen år siden. Det er bare det at Draupner er så
mye større.
"Draupner" er fratatt alle sertifikater,
og ligger i opplag inntil den er ombygget. Bl.a. skal redningsflåtesystemet
endres. Både denne, og mange andre andre båter, skal utrustes
med nye livbelter. Sleipnerulykken viste at disse ikke holdt mål.
Mens vi var der og tok bilder, arbeidet folk ombord på båten.
Så den vil nok snart bli klar for resertifisering igjen.
Nå er det imidlertid om å gjøre
at folk gjenvinner tilliten til denne typen båter. For den fikk seg
en alvorlig "skudd for baugen" etter Sleipnerulykken. Passasjertallet med
båtene er merkbart redusert. Det er synd, for de representerer en
flott måte å reise på - når vi bare føler
oss trygge!

Monday at 12AM. The remaining sistership
of Sleipner has not been used since the accident Nov. 26. Now it is moored
on a shipyard in Lervik on Stord island in Sunnhordland.
It's large, Draupner. The boat left seems
to be small, but it is of the ones we called large 10 years ago.
At the moment, Draupner is not allowed
to sail with passengers. Before getting it's sertificates back, they plan
to change the rafting equipment and life belts, the onboard intercom system,
the power failure system - all giving the Sleipner passengers and crew
big problems during the accident. On Oma shipyard on Stord, they were working
on Draupner - and I guess it will soon be ready for resertification.
The number of passengers with the flaggruteboats,
have decreased about 25% since the Sleipner accident. When Draupner is
back, they have to make us feel safe. Then I'm sure we will start using
this very comfortable boat again!
