Sildafest i Sildahovedstaden
Lørdag 16. august var det Sildabord i Haugesund, og
Havnedagene pågikk fremdeles for fullt på Indre kai. Sildabordet var som vanlig verdens lengste, og solen skinte mens folk koste seg med de lekreste retter.
Samme dag gjorde barneløpet Sildastimen
Haraldsgaten om til løpsbane for hundrevis av unger...

 Herring party in the herring capital
Saturday August 16, was the day of this years Sildabord in Haugesund, and the Harbor days was parallelly going on on the Inner quay. AS usual, the Herring buffet was the longest in the world, and the sun was shining as people enjoyed the most tasty meal.
In norwegian: Verdens lengste Sildabord = The longest herring buffet in the World. Yearly event in Haugesund, Norway, collection 20.000 people - eating 3,5 ton of food for free.
Same days, and a few hundred meters down the hill (Torgbakken), we find the Harbor festival ( Havnedagene), an old boat show and exhibition. And the Norwegian International Film Festival starts this very same day - in Haugesund, the herring based coast town with Smedasundet and an ocean view from its surrounding hills that you'll miss when are back at home. And best of all: These days are often blessed with sunny weather.

The very same day, the child run Sildastimen made the main street Haraldsgaten a running path for hundreds of kids....
