The World besøkte Haugesund
The World er en flytende "boligblokk" med lukseriøse fasiliteter og omgivelserer. Etter at den ble levert fra Fosen verft i Trøndelag for et par år siden huser den nå noen titalls millionærer som har den som lystyacht - sammen med andre godt bemidlede. Og her har de det de trenger for å bo og fungere. Leilighetene har fra 2 til 6 soverrom. Fullverdig tele- og datakommunikasjon gjør det mulig å arbeide i periodene eierne er ombord. De har butikker, restauranter, golfbane, spasenter, badeanlegg o.s.v. Skipet seiler fra havn til havn jorden rundt i løpet av et år og anløper steder som man regner med kan være av interesse for innbyggerne (på båten). 18. juni var det altså Haugesund som var liggested - for en dag.
The World tilbyr og "ordinære" korttidscruise. Sikkert ikke billige, men helt sikkert lukseriøse.
Neste stopp etter Haugesund er Stavanger. Vil du vite mer: Slå opp på nettsidene som jeg har henvist til lenger nede på siden.
Noen av innbyggerne ombord hadde vært innom hos Slakter Håland og testet sildekaker. Det falt visstnok ikke i smak. Men slik er jo lett å forstå, for fattigmannskost passer vel ikke for de som har råd til å bo på "The World".
 The World visiting Haugesund
This is the most luxeriouse "apartment building" in the world. It is a residenSea for millionaires. After beeing delivered from the shipyard in Trøndelag, Norway a couple of years ago, many rich americans (40%)- and other, well equipped people from around the world have become it's inhabitants . Together they live and move around the world, visiting new harbors and places all the time. Friday June 18, the port of Haugesund welcomed them as our guests for a day.
